Raise deflectors and add oil (not included) to keep ants from climbing up into your hives. Lower deflector to keep rain, debris and animals out of oil. Leave a small gap between the cup and the deflector that ants won't cross.
Cups and deflectors made of aluminum. Threaded rod is 5/8" in diameter, 11 threads per inch, zinc-plated steel.

Works great
Welded some nuts to the bottom of my stands and installed them. Just fill with oil and no more ants. Very nice product and was shipped on time. Although very self explanatory it does come with instructions and tips. I am going to buy some more.
